Fatal Shooting In Salinas Thursday Afternoon

One person was killed in a shooting in Salinas this afternoon, a police spokesman said. Police responded to a report of a shooting at about 2:45 p.m. at Rider and Garner avenues, Officer Miguel Cabrera said. Officers arrived to find the victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound, Cabrera said. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. No one has yet been taken into custody, Cabrera said. As of 3:50 p.m., investigators were still at the scene, he said.
