* Petaluma Police Arrest Three For Possession Of Marijuana For Sale

Police arrested three suspects on suspicion of marijuana possession and seized 10 pounds of marijuana at a residence in Petaluma on Wednesday morning. Petaluma police conducted a parole search of the residence of Omar Chavez, 30, at 103 Dana St. at about 11 a.m. Wednesday. Upon arrival at the residence, police heard Chavez and Brant P. Mendelson, 27, of Florida and Jana Marie Valencia, 24, of Petaluma, discussing the sale of 30 pounds of marijuana, according to police.

Police entered the residence to conduct a parole search and saw approximately 10 pounds of processed marijuana as well as a scale and packaging materials in plain sight. All three suspects were arrested and booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of possession of marijuana for sale. Chavez was also arrested for violating parole, police said.
