A 15-year-old boy has his sneakers back today after a man he met on Facebook tried to steal them, San Jose police said. According to police, the 15-year-old boy had contacted an 18-year-old man on Facebook to sell a pair of sneakers worth about $100, spokesman Sgt. Jason Dwyer said. The 15-year-old planned to sell his shoes to the 18-year-old, but when the two met up around 12:45 p.m. in the 3100 block of Senter Road to make the sale, the man pulled out a handgun and took the boy’s sneakers, police said. The boy called police, who were able to track the man down and recover the sneakers, police said. The man was booked in to Santa Clara County Jail.
