The attack occurred around 3:20 p.m. Monday on a Muni bus near Haight Street and Central Avenue. During the altercation, the suspect took out a knife and the 54-year-old victim cut his hand while trying to grab it from him, according to police.
The suspect and victim then both got off the bus. The suspect, described as a man between 40 and 50 years old, fled and had not been found as of this morning, police said. The victim was taken to a hospital to be treated for the cut to his hand, an injury not considered life-threatening.
