Law enforcement officials arrested four people Thursday after busting a DMT drug lab and suspected drug-peddling operation. Mountain View police said that officers from Mountain View and Sunnyvale joined forces with a Los Altos SWAT team, members of the state Department of Justice and the Santa Clara County Specialized Enforcement Team to serve search warrants at four apartments in two complexes located at 242 and 228 Bush St.

Inside, law enforcement officers found heroin, LSD, ecstasy methamphetamine, marijuana, an assault rifle, shotguns, other weapons and a Dimethyltryptamine (DMT) lab, police said. Police had arrested two men and one woman as of 5 p.m. and arrested one more man when he came home to find police searching the apartment, according to Sgt. Dan Bicencio of the Mountain View police.

Jerrod Kensil, 29, Guadalupe Villador, 42, David Strang, 40, and Richard Rosen, 32, who are all Mountain View residents, were booked into the Santa Clara County Jail Thursday, Bicencio said. Mountain View police Sgt. Sean Thompson said that DMT drug labs are very rare.

Thompson said he believed the lab was the third DMT lab to be busted in state and the first in the Bay Area. Police worked to clear the area of DMT ended their investigation around 10 p.m. Thursday, according to Bicencio. DMT is classified as a Schedule I substance by the federal government and is a hallucinogen that occurs in plants and can also be made in a lab.
