A man whose decomposed body was found in an abandoned building in Hayward on Tuesday was identified today as 19-year-old Luis Calleros, who had been reported missing about a week ago. Hayward police said Calleros’ death has been classified as a homicide and his cause of death is still under investigation.

His body was found when a construction worker noticed a foul odor and followed the scent into the building that was formerly Perry & Key Body & Paint Shop at 28953 Mission Blvd. at about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Lt. Roger Keener said. The worker found Calleros’ body and reported it to police. Keener said there were no visible signs of trauma to Calleros’ body because it had deteriorated.
