* Pipe Bomb Exploded By San Jose Police Bomb Squad

Police detonated a live pipe bomb found in a car during a traffic stop in San Jose Wednesday night. Officers stopped the driver of the car for a traffic violation near the intersection of North First Street and Matrix Boulevard at 8:48 p.m. After a search of the vehicle, police found a suspicious device and called in a bomb squad. The bomb squad arrived shortly after 10 p.m. and detonated the pipe bomb without incident or injuries, police said. The adult male suspect is in custody this morning, police said.
