* San Francisco two shot near Giants celebration at Turk and Leavenworth streets

Two people were shot in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood this afternoon, a police spokesman said. The shooting was reported at about 2:45 p.m. at Turk and Leavenworth streets, just a few blocks from a large celebration in Civic Center Plaza for the Giants’ World Series title, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said. One victim was shot in the head while the other was shot in the torso. Both victims were taken to a hospital with injuries that are considered life-threatening, Esparza said. No arrests have been made in the case, he said.
