Fairfield police are trying to locate a man they have identified as a suspect in a homicide that occurred early Sunday morning. Zavier Pigues, 21, is wanted for the shooting murder of 30-year-old Brian Beaufort in the driveway of Beaufort’s Oceanic Court home in Fairfield around 3 a.m. Sunday, Lt. Greg Hurlbut said.
The shooting followed a dispute between the two men, and investigators are looking into a connection between Beaufort’s girlfriend and Pigues, Hurlbut said. Pigues is described as a black man with dreadlocks. He was last seen driving a gray, four-door 1992 Mercedes-Benz 400 with 20-inch chrome rims, Hurlbut said.
The car has a California license plate number of 6GEV838. Pigues is considered armed and dangerous and is believed to be living in his car, Hurlbut said.
