Two masked suspects robbed a Gilroy credit union at gunpoint Friday morning, according to police. The suspects entered the Golden 1 Credit Union at 8379 Church St. around 10:30 a.m., displayed firearms and demanded money, according to Gilroy police.
A bank clerk handed over cash and the two fled in a gold-colored sedan. A short time later, witnesses told police they saw a gold sedan pull into the area of Hanna Street and Arnold Drive, a few blocks away from the credit union. Two suspects were seen getting out of the sedan and getting into an older white foreign-make vehicle. The white car was last seen driving west on Arnold Drive, police said.
The gold sedan was stolen from the Salinas area earlier Friday. The suspects are described as men, one of whom was around 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans. The other was around 6 feet tall, wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt and jeans. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Gilroy police.
