One man was killed and another was hospitalized in two East Oakland shootings around noon today, an Oakland police officer said. The fatal shooting happened at 1:04 p.m. in the 10700 block of Myers Street, near the Foothill Square Shopping Center, police Officer J. Moore said.
The victim was transported to a hospital by ambulance where he later died. The shooting was only a block from the scene of another homicide Thursday night that killed 47-year-old Ledell Moss in the 10700 block of Voltaire Avenue, according to police. Another shooting today about 90 minutes earlier sent a man to the hospital, Moore said.
The man was found suffering from a gunshot wound in the 1400 block of 69th Avenue at 11:40 p.m. He was taken to a hospital and is in stable condition tonight, police said. No suspects have been named in either shooting.
