The all-clear has been given at Oakland’s Holy Names University this afternoon after someone reported seeing an armed person on campus earlier today, university officials said. A message posted on the school’s website shortly after 2 p.m. stated that “HNU has received notice from the Oakland Police Department that the campus is secure and no longer under lockdown.
” Hundreds of students and faculty members were evacuated from the campus, located at 3500 Mountain Blvd., after someone called police at 10:30 a.m. to report a “disheveled” male dressed in a business suit with a gun in his waistband who had asked to use a restroom in a school building, Oakland police spokeswoman Johnna Watson said. Officers searched about 20 buildings on campus, Watson said.
