A man eluded police after he robbed an Alameda bank at gunpoint this morning, Alameda police said. The robbery was reported around 10 a.m. at Citibank at 1526 Webster St., police said. The suspect showed a handgun and fled on foot with an unknown amount of money and items from the bank, according to police.
The suspect was described as a man in his 20s standing about 5 feet 8 inches and weighing about 230 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black beanie, a gray or black sweater with a diamond pattern on the front, jeans and boots. Anyone with information about the armed robbery is asked to call the Department’s violent crimes unit at (510) 337-8820.
