A City Council candidate was robbed Wednesday night in Oakland, police said. Candidate Daniel Kalb, who is running to represent Oakland’s District 1, was the victim of an armed robbery that occurred at about 8:35 p.m. in the 5100 block of Manila Avenue, police said. He was not injured, and no arrests have been made in the case, police said. Kalb, who identifies himself as a policy analyst, environmental advocate and progressive reformer, has said the problems he would tackle if elected include Oakland’s high unemployment and crime rates.
