Members of a Palo Alto neighborhood association will meet with police this evening to discuss recent auto and home burglaries. Norm Beamer, president of the Crescent Park Neighborhood Association, said that after an August spike in burglaries, he and other residents decided to coordinate with police to set up a meeting to discuss the issues. “We wanted to figure out what the situation actually is, what are best practices to prevent crime,” Beamer said. Beamer said the meeting will likely involve a presentation by police, followed by a question-and-answer session. The Crescent Park neighborhood is located near the Menlo Park border, close to downtown. The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Duveneck Elementary School at 705 Alester Ave.
