Monterey County sheriff’s investigators are looking for a man who evaded deputies after participating in a residential burglary on Tuesday night. Deputies said two suspects were trying to enter a home near the intersection of Maher Road and Royal Oak Place around 11:35 p.m. when they were confronted by the homeowner. The two then fled down the driveway to a green, 2011 Chevy Trailblazer with two other people in it and jumped in. The four suspects, at least three of whom are men, were stopped by deputies on San Juan Road. Deputies arrested three suspects, 21-year-old Olwaldo Toscano, 18-year-old Marcial Casillo, and a 17-year-old on suspicion of burglary. Jimmy Moreno, 18, evaded deputies after he got out of the car and ran.
An outstanding, no-bail Santa Cruz County felony warrant has been issued for Moreno’s arrest. He is believed to be in the Watsonville or Santa Cruz area and is known to carry weapons, deputies said. Moreno is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 138 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He has a tattoo of a barcode on his left cheek.
