Watsonville police are asking for the public’s help in investigating a shooting after a 17-year-old arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound Tuesday night, police said. Police responded to the emergency room at the Watsonville Community Hospital at 9:44 p.m. after being informed by hospital staff that they were treating a juvenile shooting victim. The teen’s wound is not considered life-threatening, police said. Officers arrived at the hospital and spoke with the 17-year-old victim and his 18-year-old cousin, but both were uncooperative, police said.
Police believe the shooting may have occurred in the area of 29 E. Beach St. They are trying to locate a gray 2001 Honda Civic they believe may be connected to the crime. The car has a California license plate number of 6GLD637. Police said the car was used to transport the victim to the emergency room and belongs to his family.
