Following a standoff, police arrested a suspect in connection to a double homicide in Vallejo’s Glen Cove neighborhood Wednesday evening, according to police. Vallejo police received a report of shots fired and subjects down in a yard in the 300 block of Foulkstone Way at 6:09 p.m., police said. Upon arrival, officers found two victims with gunshot wounds, police said. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Officers determined that the suspect was a neighbor to the two victims and was in a nearby residence, police said. A Vallejo police hostage negotiator was able to make contact with the suspect, Martin Hohenegger, 65, of Vallejo. About 45 minutes later, Hohenegger exited his house and surrendered to police officers without incident. Police said preliminary information indicates that Hohenegger and the victims were acquainted neighbors.

The identity of the victims is being withheld pending notification of family members, police said. These two deaths mark the 12th and 13th homicide victims in Vallejo this year, according to police. Anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to contact Det. Mat Mustard at (707) 651-4514 or the Vallejo police at (800) 488-9383.
