San Jose Police Press Release 10/3/12

The victim from the September 30th, 2012 Homicide has been identified as Daniel Marichalar 28 years of age. On 10/2/12, the suspect was arrested by the San Jose Police Department’s Covert Response Unit in Morgan Hill. The suspect was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail.

On Sunday, September 30, 2012, at approximately 12:57 a.m., San Jose police responded to Monterey Hwy / Bernal Road on reports of a physical fight involving several subjects and some who may have been armed with guns. Upon arrival, Officers located a male adult victim suffering from at least one stab wound.

The victim was taken to a local area hospital where he was pronounced dead. The motive behind the homicide remains under investigation. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending positive identification by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner’s Office. No suspects have been arrested in this case. This marks the city’s 34th homicide of the year.
