Oakland police are at the scene of a double-fatal shooting in East Oakland, police said. The shooting occurred shortly after 6 a.m. in the 1600 block of 72nd Avenue, Officer K. Quintela said. Police were still at the scene as of 8 a.m. The killings come on the heels of two fatal shootings on Monday night. The first was reported at 8:56 p.m. in the 9000 block of MacArthur Boulevard, police said.
The victim, a man, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. The second happened in the 2000 block of MacArthur Boulevard at about 10:20 p.m. That victim was also a man who was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
