A man was shot and killed after a fight in San Jose early this morning, a police officer said. The shooting was reported just before 1 a.m. in the 6000 block of Monterey Highway at Bernal Road, San Jose police Officer Albert Morales said. Officers arriving on the scene located the victim, who was suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds.
He was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later, Morales said. Police learned that there was a fight involving several people, including some who may have been armed, leading up to the shooting. No suspect information was available as of 2:45 a.m.
