Police continue to investigate two men who robbed a Watsonville bank last Wednesday while wearing clown masks, police said today. The two men entered the Rabobank at 1915 Main St. at 9:30 a.m. and pointed handguns at the tellers, demanding money. The pair fled with an undisclosed amount of money to an awaiting red Toyota Corolla. The vehicle was captured on surveillance video and within a couple of hours, a Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s deputy found the suspect’s vehicle abandoned on the 100 block of Technology Drive. Watsonville police is working with the FBI to investigate the robbery. They will also be looking into a group of Toyota Corollas that were stolen in the last couple of days to determine if there is a connection.
