* Anthony Nunes Arrested For The Suspicion Of Stabbing San Leandro Man

A man stabbed another man with a pocketknife while in a physical and verbal fight in San Leandro Friday night, according to San Leandro police. Anthony Nunes, 24, of San Leandro, was arrested on suspicion of stabbing a 42-year-old San Leandro man in his hand at approximately 9:43 p.m. in the 200 block of Alvarado Street, police said. Allegedly Nunes began yelling profanities at the victim, who was socializing with his friends near the suspect. Then Nunes allegedly pulled out a pocketknife and stabbed the victim in the hand, police said.

After stabbing the victim, Nunes was physically restrained by a witness until police arrived on scene and took him into custody, according to police. Both the victim and the suspect were transported to a nearby hospital for injuries, police said. Nunes was treated for his injuries and booked into jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, police said. The weapon allegedly used in the fight was recovered at the scene, police said.
