A Pittsburg man has been charged with murder for the 2009 fatal shooting of 41-year-old Daniel Harrington, a prosecutor said today. The Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office today charged 36-year-old Elonzia Perkins, Jr. with murder with use of a gun and with being a felon in possession of a gun, Deputy District Attorney John Cope said.

He is now being held in county jail in Martinez. Police found Harrington, a Pittsburg resident, shot to death in his car in downtown Pittsburg in the early hours of Aug. 1, 2009. Cope said Perkins will likely be arraigned next week. No further information was immediately available.
