Police are attempting to locate a suspect who robbed a Subway restaurant in Watsonville over the weekend. Officers responded around 11:30 p.m. Saturday to reports of a robbery at the Subway in a shopping center 1063 S. Green Valley Road, police said. Two employees said a masked male suspect had entered the restaurant, approached them at the deli counter and demanded cash.
Fearing for their safety, the employees took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and gave it to the suspect, who then fled the scene. The suspect was last seen running toward the back of the shopping center. Officers searched the surrounding area but were unable to locate the suspect, described only as a Hispanic male who is between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall with a medium build. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black mask, white shoes and black gloves at the time of the robbery.
