A special needs teenager who had been missing from her Fremont home was located unharmed by Modesto police in their city on Saturday, Fremont police said today. Kristina Krag, 15, had last been seen by high school classmates around 8 p.m. Thursday outside Bronco Billy’s Pizza Parlor at 37651 Niles Blvd., according to Julie Terry, a missing persons investigator. A classmate contacted police about the sighting Friday morning after news of Kristina’s disappearance was reported. The classmate told police that Kristina was asking for a ride to Modesto.
According to her father, Chris Krag, Kristina has the mental capacity of a 7- or 8-year-old and is not on medication but sees a psychologist weekly. Krag said on Friday that he thought Kristina was trying to track down her mother, a transient who was last known to be living on the street in Modesto. Fremont police said that after Kristina was located in Modesto, she returned to her home in Fremont.
