A 17-year-old suspect was arrested in connection with a stabbing that seriously injured an unidentified man in East Palo Alto early Monday morning, police said. Officers responded to a report of a fight in progress inside a home at 1112 Newbridge St. at 3:21 a.m. When they arrived, they found a resident suffering from multiple stab wounds, police said. The victim was treated at the scene then taken to a hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition. Later in the morning, a 17-year-old male called police to report that he had been robbed and cut. During questioning, police said he admitted he was involved in the stabbing and was arrested.
He was booked into the San Mateo County Youth Services Center on suspicion of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. Acting Captain Jeff Liu said police have yet to identify the victim in the case, who remained unconscious Monday afternoon. “We’ll just have to wait until he wakes up and see what we can find out,” Liu said.
