Two people were injured in separate shootings in East Oakland around the same time late Saturday night, an Oakland police officer said. Around 11 p.m., a man was shot near the intersection of 96th Avenue and Birch Street, Officer J. Moore said. The man went to a local hospital in stable condition, and no suspects were located in connection with the shooting. At about the same time, another person was wounded in a shooting in the 8300 block of Bancroft Avenue, Moore said.

That victim also went to a nearby hospital in stable condition. Moore said two armed suspects were apparently involved in that shooting, but none have been arrested. The late night shootings came about an hour after gunfire injured another person in East Oakland, and about two hours after a fatal shooting in the 800 block of 53rd Street.
