San Jose police have identified the victim of the city’s 29th homicide this year as 23-year-old Rodrigo Loza Sanchez of San Jose. Sanchez was shot around 6:40 p.m. on Aug. 20, when police received reports of a shooting in the 1900 block of Poco Way. By the time police arrived, friends had already taken Sanchez to Regional Medical Center of San Jose where he was pronounced dead. Further investigation revealed that the shooting had actually taken place in the 1900 block of Story Road. Police said they believe the shooting, like many of the homicides to occur in San Jose this August, is gang related.
