Investigators are still looking for leads in a midday shooting in San Pablo on Sunday that left a 24-year-old man dead, a police spokesman said today. Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the 2100 block of Emerick Avenue at 12:07 p.m. Sunday and found the victim, a San Pablo resident, lying in the street, San Pablo police Lt. Jeff Palmieri said. The victim was taken to Doctors Medical Center in San Pablo where he was pronounced dead, Palmieri said.
Police initially reported that the victim was 22, but said today he was actually 24. His name has not yet been released. Palmieri said there have been no arrests in the case and that investigators have not yet determined the motive for the shooting. “We are at the cusp of trying to get some information,” he said.
