A man found dead in a Union City park Thursday morning has been identified as a 62-year-old city resident, the Alameda County coroner’s bureau said today. Alvin Salinas Sr. was reported lying unresponsive on the grass at Casa Verde Park around 10:40 a.m. Thursday after passersby noticed a body, Union City police said.

Salinas was pronounced dead the scene, police said. Investigators are trying to determine if foul play was involved in his death. The coroner’s bureau said they had yet to determine Salinas’ cause of death. Casa Verde Park is just south of Alvarado-Niles Road and Dyer Street.
