Santa Cruz County sheriff’s deputies are investigating an early morning murder that occurred today in Soquel. Around 3 a.m., deputies responded to reports that a man had been shot outside a Nicasio Way home, sheriff’s spokeswoman April Skalland said. The man, who was in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene, and the case is being investigated as a homicide. Deputies do not believe the incident is gang-related, but the motive remains under investigation, Skalland said.
