Police have identified a man shot and killed Sunday afternoon in West Oakland. Terrance Jackson, 22, of Oakland, was one of two victims brought to a hospital in separate vehicles that day. Jackson later died from his injuries, but the second victim is expected to survive, according to police. The two are believed to have been shot at about 5:40 p.m. in the 900 block of 18th Street. Jackson was the third homicide victim in Oakland over the weekend, and one of four people shot on Sunday.
Two others were shot earlier that day at about 12:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of Mandela Parkway. One of those victims was in critical condition Sunday. Early Friday morning, William Adams, 24, of Oakland was gunned down in front of a liquor store in the 1900 block of San Pablo Avenue, police said. Another man was wounded in the shooting, an 18-year-old Vallejo resident. Early Saturday morning, at 5:40 a.m., police responded to another fatal shooting in the 8900 block of Birch Street. Jakary Garrett, 22, of Oakland was killed in the shooting, and a 24-year-old man was injured in the shooting as well.
