A man was injured in a shooting in East Oakland late Sunday night, capping a day of violence in Oakland that left one victim dead and three others seriously injured, according to police. The shooting was reported at about 10:50 p.m. near the intersection of 55th Avenue and International Boulevard, Oakland police Officer J. Moore said.
The victim, who suffered a gunshot wound, was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, Moore said. Police said an armed suspect fled the scene of the shooting in a vehicle and has not been arrested. The late night gunfire came hours after two other shootings, according to police.
The first of those shootings occurred around 12:30 p.m. Sunday in the 1200 block of Mandela Parkway. One or more suspects opened fire, injuring one person and leaving another injured but in stable condition, according to police. Around 5:40 p.m., gunfire erupted in the 900 block of 18th Street, wounding two male victims. One of those victims later died from his injuries, while the other is in stable condition, according to police. No suspect information is available in any of Sunday’s shootings.
