Vallejo police have identified the woman who was found dead in a room at the Great Western Inn Wednesday as 37-year-old Jessica Brastow. Brastow is an out-of-state resident, possibly from Oregon, Sgt. Jeff Bassett said. Police arrested 59-year-old Michael Daniels of Vallejo in connection with the death. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Solano County Superior Court Aug. 20. Daniels called the Vallejo Fire Department and Medic Ambulance Service in Vallejo to the inn at 1308 Lincoln Road East for a medical response around 8 p.m. Wednesday, Bassett said.

Brastow was pronounced dead a short time later and police and the coroner’s office then responded. Police determined the death was suspicious, and evidence suggested Daniels was responsible for her death, Lt. Ken Weaver said. Bassett said Daniels and Brastow knew each other and were in the same hotel room at the inn. The autopsy is pending toxicology test results.

  • I knew Jessica. May she rest in peace. God knows her road was filled with not easily traveled. May God have mercy on her soul. She will be missed and never forgotten
