A Watsonville man was arrested Friday after he allegedly robbed a Castroville bank by threatening a bank teller, according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office. Brandon West, 34, was arrested Friday after police spotted him in a taxicab, allegedly fleeing the scene of a 1 p.m. robbery at Castroville’s Rabobank.
West allegedly entered the bank and gave the teller a note demanding money, and then told her to keep quiet or he would hurt her, the Sheriff’s Office said. The teller complied, and West allegedly fled with an undisclosed amount of money in a white taxi. When police spotted West a short time later, he fled on foot but was quickly captured and the money was recovered, officials said.
