Two suspects were arrested in connection with a hash manufacturing operation and a potentially gang-related altercation Friday afternoon in Watsonville, according to police. Police were dispatched at 3:42 p.m. to the area of Westwind Court after reports of a fight with weapons, including a gun.

Police located the suspects in the garage, as well as other suspects in the driveway of the residence. The suspects were detained and a search of the home revealed what police believe to be the lab of a hash oil manufacturing operation, police said. No gun was found on the premises, police said.

After police interviewed witnesses at the scene, police arrested Paulino Sanchez, 32, and Miguel Sanchez, 25, in connection with the altercation and the hash operation. The fight is under investigation and may be gang-related, according to police. An investigation was launched into the manufacturing of concentrated cannabis, known as hash, which was discovered at the suspects’ home. Police said they confiscated 4.5 pounds of marijuana and numerous empty chemical cans.
