A stranger sexual assault case in Berkeley will be featured on the television program “America’s Most Wanted” tonight. Berkeley police allege that suspect Omar Sosa Arenal, 29, entered a minor victim’s bedroom during the early morning hours of Nov. 10, 2010, and sexually assaulted the victim. Arenal evaded capture by fleeing to Mexico, police believe.
There is a no-bail warrant for Arenal’s arrest for various sexual assault charges, police said. Berkeley detectives have been actively pursuing leads and trying to locate Arenal but haven’t been able to apprehend him. Detective Alan Dunn said, “With the help of ‘America’s Most Wanted,’ we are hoping the suspect will be captured and face justice for his brutal crimes.”
