* Belmont Police Search For Burglar Seen Running From Backyard

Police in Belmont are searching for a burglar who was seen running from a home Friday. An alert resident in the 1400 block of Sixth Avenue reportedly heard the sound of breaking glass at a neighboring house at about 12:40 p.m., according to police. The citizen saw a white man in his 40s running from the backyard of the home and called 911. Multiple police units responded but were unable to track down the suspect, who was last seen walking in the area of Harbor Boulevard and El Camino Real. The suspect was around 5 feet 11 inches tall with a stocky build. He was wearing a black baseball cap with a white rim around the bill, a black T-shirt, black shorts and tennis shoes.
