A man who was fatally shot in San Francisco’s Portola neighborhood on Tuesday night has been identified by the medical examiner’s office as 26-year-old Edmundo Sandoval. Sandoval and another man were standing in front of a building in the 3000 block of San Bruno Avenue around 10 p.m. when two suspects opened fire on them, according to police. The suspects, described as men in their 20s, then jumped into a waiting car driven by a third person and fled the scene, police said.

They had not been found as of this morning, and neither had their car, described as a white four-door vehicle. Sandoval was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victim suffered a gunshot wound to his chest but is expected to survive.
