Police are attempting to locate two suspects responsible for a drive-by shooting targeting a Watsonville home Saturday night, a police corporal said. Watsonville police and members of the Santa Cruz County Gang Task Force responded at about 7 p.m. Saturday to a report of a shooting in the 200 block of Hushbeck Avenue, police said. Arriving officers learned that two male suspects approached the home in a silver, four-door Honda Accord with large rims and fired multiple rounds into a home occupied by two men, according to police.
Neither victim, a 21-year-old and a 23-year-old, were hit by the bullets. Police said the suspect vehicle sped away immediately after the shooting onto McKenzie Avenue. Officers on the scene broadcasted a “Be on the Lookout” alert for the vehicle but were unable to locate it. The shooting remains under investigation, and police say they do not know whether the shooting was gang-related.
