A strong-arm robbery was reported at a Newark Home Depot Thursday night, Newark police said. In an incident that was reported at 9:16 p.m., the victim and suspect had arranged to meet at the Thornton Avenue Home Depot, near Cedar Boulevard, to drop off a cellphone the victim had listed for sale online on Craigslist, police said.
The suspect met with the seller then pushed her before grabbing the phone, police said. He then ran across the parking lot toward the Mountain Mike’s Pizza parlor. The suspect is described as a black man about 20 to 25 years old with shoulder length hair in braids. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and gray or blue pants, police said.
