Police have arrested a Fulton resident in connection with a crash Wednesday night that injured a Santa Rosa woman, a police sergeant said. Sgt. Lance Badger said a vehicle driven by Lance Nathaniel Derrick, 23, struck the rear of a car driven by 54-year-old Kathleen Mary McQuoid in the area of Piner Road and Industrial Drive in Santa Rosa around 9:25 p.m.

The collision forced McQuoid’s vehicle off the road and into a sign, and resulted in major front- and rear-end damage to the vehicle, Badger said. McQuoid suffered moderate injuries and was admitted to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, Badger said. The other vehicle left the scene, but officers who responded to the crash found evidence that helped locate the hit-and-run car and driver, Badger said. Derrick was arrested and booked into Sonoma County Jail for felony hit-and run and felony DUI, Badger said.
