Oakland police responded to an unusually high number of robberies across the city over a 24-hour period that began Monday morning. Fourteen robberies and three carjackings were reported between 4 a.m. Monday and 4 a.m. today, Oakland police spokeswoman Johnna Watson said.

The robberies occurred throughout the city, and there is no immediate indication they are connected, although they all remain under investigation, Watson said. No injuries were reported, and no arrests have been made. Watson said the number of robberies in the city fluctuates widely day by day, but that the 14 robberies are “not typical of what we see in a
24-hour period.”
