* Man Shot Outside Liquor Store on Mandela Parkway in Oakland

A man was hit in the foot by gunfire as he exited a liquor store in West Oakland late Saturday night before driving himself to the hospital for treatment, police said. Police said the shooting incident occurred on Mandela Parkway near 10th Street and was reported around 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

The injured man told police that he heard gunshots as he was leaving the liquor store and that as he headed for his car he was shot in the foot, Oakland police Officer J. Kroushour said. The man said that he managed to drive himself to the hospital, Kroushour said.
