A 26-year-old man was arrested Saturday night for alleged domestic violence and for keeping the victim from calling police or from leaving the Napa home where the alleged dispute occurred, police said. The disturbance was reported around 9 p.m. at a home in the 500 block of Coombs Street, police said.
Officers learned that the suspect, 26-year-old Napa resident David Cozad, had gotten into an argument with a female victim and snatched her phone as she attempted to call 911. Police said Cozad also prevented the victim from leaving the home. The victim also suffered a small, visible injury on a finger when the suspect grabbed her phone, police said.
Cozad was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and tampering with wireless communication. He was booked into the Napa County Detention Center.
