A man was shot early Monday morning in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood by suspects who wanted his shoes, a police spokesman said today.  The shooting was reported around 5:30 a.m. Monday in the 200 block of Leavenworth Street.  The 20-year-old victim was walking when two suspects approached, took out a firearm and demanded his shoes, police spokesman Officer Gordon Shyy said.

The victim handed over the shoes and started running away, and after running for several blocks, he realized he had been shot in the arm, Shyy said. The victim flagged down a car and was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are not considered life-threatening, according to Shyy. No arrests had been made in the shooting as of this afternoon, Shyy said.

Shyy said a detailed description of the suspects was not available from the victim, and that the brand of shoes he was wearing was not being released because of the pending investigation.
