A man and woman were arrested this morning after an alert person spotted the pair trying to break into an El Cerrito home, a police sergeant said. Police got a report of the break-in at a house in the 3300 block of Yosemite Avenue just after 10:20 a.m. from a person in the area, according to El Cerrito police Detective Sgt. Scott Cliatt. Officers arrived on the scene and apprehended one suspect, 22-year-old San Pablo man Corey Bryant, as he was walking away from the home.
With Bryant was a second suspect, Quianna Moore, 32, of Richmond, who attempted to flee the scene on foot, tossing stolen items as she ran, police said. Police apprehended Moore and arrested both suspects on suspicion of burglary and possessing stolen property. Both were taken to county jail in Martinez. El Cerrito police said the arrests illustrate the importance of immediately reporting crime or suspicious behavior. Anyone who sees a crime in progress is urged to call 911.
