Police apprehended two armed robbery suspects after their car crashed into a fence on U.S. Highway 101 as they fled from officers early this morning. Police received reports of an armed robbery in the 2100 block of Lanai Avenue around 3:18 a.m., police said. The victim told dispatchers he had been robbed at knifepoint by three men, and gave a description of their vehicle — a white, four-door 1994 Nissan, according to police.

A short time later, responding officers spotted the vehicle and tried to stop it, but the driver accelerated away onto northbound Highway 101 and officers chased him, police said. The car then crashed into a chain-link fence near Alum Rock Avenue, police said. Three suspects exited the car and fled on foot. Two were arrested, and the third remains at large, according to police. One of the suspects in custody is a 15-year-old boy and the second is a 20-year-old San Jose man. Their names have not yet been released.Police said the white Nissan car suspects crashed into the fence had been reported stolen Monday.
