* Nicholas Michael Neri and Ruben Anthony Maciel arrested in connection in San Jose stabbing

San Jose police say they have arrested two men in connection with a Wednesday night stabbing. Nicholas Michael Neri, 21, and Ruben Anthony Maciel, 20, both of San Jose, have been booked into the Santa Clara County jail on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon, police said. Neri and Maciel were arrested in connection with an incident reported around 8:30 p.m., according to police.

Police responded to reports of a fight at the 1000 block of Mallard Ridge Court on Wednesday night and found a 35-year-old man suffering from at least one stab wound. The suspects had fled the scene, police said.The victim, who sustained potentially life-threatening injuries, was transported to a hospital and is expected to survive. Police arrested Neri at approximately 10:15 p.m.

Wednesday night, in the 1100 block of Mallard Ridge Loop and Maciel near the intersection of Quail View Way and Valley View Drive around 1:20 a.m. this morning.Police say they are still investigating the motive of the attack, which they do not believe to be gang related.
